This course provides the knowledge and skills necessary to enable participants to make decisions about emergency care in wilderness settings, including:

• patient protection
• protection of other members of the party
• care of injuries for extended periods of time while waiting for rescuers
• simple evacuation techniques.

This course expands upon the techniques learned in the Canadian Red Cross First Aid Basics course.
